This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store, share, and protect your personal information in compliance with the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR) 2019 and the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023.

By accessing or using Airy, you consent to the data practices described in this policy. If you do not agree with any part of this policy, please discontinue use of our Platform immediately.

1. Information We Collect

Personal Information

When you create an account, place an order, or contact us, we may collect your full name, email address, phone number, delivery address, and payment information. If you register as a vendor or veterinarian, we also collect business registration details, professional licenses, and identification documents.

Location Data

With your consent, we collect your location data (including GPS coordinates and Local Government Area) to match you with nearby verified vendors, provide accurate delivery estimates, and display relevant products available in your area. You can disable location services at any time through your device settings.

Browsing & Device Data

We automatically collect information about your device and browsing activity, including IP address, browser type, operating system, device identifiers, pages visited, time spent on pages, referral URLs, and click patterns. This data helps us improve platform performance and user experience.

Communication Data

We retain records of your communications with our support team, veterinarians (during consultations), and vendors. This includes chat messages, consultation notes, and any files or images shared during these interactions.

We use your personal information for the following purposes:

  • To create and manage your Airy account and authenticate your identity.
  • To process and fulfil your orders, including coordinating with vendors and delivery partners.
  • To match you with nearby verified pet vendors and licensed veterinarians based on your location.
  • To facilitate veterinary consultations and maintain medical records for your pets.
  • To process payments securely through our escrow system and third-party payment processors.

3. Information Sharing & Disclosure

Vendors

When you place an order, we share your name, delivery address, and phone number with the relevant vendor to fulfil your purchase. Vendors are contractually bound to use this information solely for order fulfilment and are prohibited from using it for independent marketing.

Veterinarians

When you initiate a veterinary consultation, we share your name and your pet's relevant health information with the assigned veterinarian. Vets are bound by professional confidentiality obligations and our data processing agreements.

Delivery Partners

We share your name, phone number, and delivery address with our logistics partners solely for the purpose of delivering your orders. Delivery partners are contractually obligated to protect your information.

Payment Processors

Your payment information is processed by PCI-DSS compliant third-party payment processors. Airy does not store your full card details on our servers.

Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or governmental regulation, or when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.

7. Data Retention

We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected, or as required by applicable law:

  • Account data is retained for as long as your account remains active and for 12 months after account deletion.
  • Transaction records are retained for 6 years in compliance with Nigerian tax and commercial regulations.
  • Veterinary consultation records are retained for 5 years in accordance with veterinary practice standards.
  • Communication logs are retained for 2 years for quality assurance and dispute resolution purposes.
  • Analytics data is anonymised and aggregated after 24 months.

8. Children's Privacy

Airy is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately at support@airy.ng and we will take steps to delete such information from our systems.

Users between the ages of 13 and 18 may use Airy only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian. The parent or guardian is responsible for the minor's activity on the platform, including any purchases or consultations.
